Elowel was a blogging community built by a couple of my high school acquaintances. It positioned itself as the local homegrown alternative to LiveJournal and Xanga back when both of those were still a thing. It was also one of the very first places I blogged, starting back in 2005. That means that a lot of these posts are highly embarrassing.
Elowel’s mascot was Steve the Seagull, hence the category image here.
